The Tabernacle Choir Performs on Temple Square in a Summer Concert After a Trip to Mexico
Concert will be stream on July 15, at 7:30 p.m. on the Choir’s YouTube channel
On Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15, at 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time, the Conference Center on Temple Square will present two special Summer Concerts by the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. Free tickets may be reserved now for either evening.
The famous Choir is returning to Salt Lake City after wrapping up its most recent world tour in Mexico City. The Summer Concert will include special guests Adassa and Alejandro “Alex” Melecio and will honor the ability of music to bring people from different countries and backgrounds together.
Featured Guest Artists
Singer, songwriter and actress Adassa voiced Dolores in Disney’s “Encanto,” including singing in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” She is a Golden Globe, Oscar and Grammy winner and is a bilingual Afro-Latina voice actress. The wife and mother of seven was also involved in RootsTech 2023.
Melecio was a finalist on “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento,” a reality competition show searching for Latino talent, in 2012. With the support of his wife and five children, the native of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, signed with record label Rumor Records and released a debut album in 2015.
Program
The Tabernacle Choir’s Summer Concert 2023 will a celebration of music that will blend tradition with the Choir’s unmistakable sound. According TheTabernacleChoir.com, “The diverse selection of music will serve as a testament to the Choir’s commitment to inclusivity and to the universal language of music.” Mack Wilberg, music director, and Ryan Murphy, associate music director will conduct the concert.
