Police received a report shortly after 3:30 p.m. on December 12 that the destruction had occurred. By using security footage, the police were able to identify the vehicle of Weston Huff which led to his arrest later that day.

The extent of the damage and the details of the repair are unknown at this time. The Provo Utah Temple is currently closed for cleaning.

It will close in February 2024 and undergo major renovations. A rendering of the new design is available to view below.
