First Presidency Announces Dedication Date for Orem Utah Temple and Closure Date for Provo Utah Temple

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the dedication and open house dates for the Orem Utah Temple along with the closure date for the Provo Utah Temple.

First Presidency announces dedication, open house dates for Orem Utah and dedication will and when the Provo Utah Temple will close.

The Orem Utah Temple will be dedicated on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Beginning Friday, October 27, the temple will be open to the public for an open house. It will continue until Saturday, December 16. However, it will not be open Sundays or Thanksgiving Day. Further details about the dedication will come at a later date.

As previously stated, the Provo temple will undergo a major renovation once the Orem temple is dedicated. It was announced that the Provo temple will close at the end of the day on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. After its closure, members within the Provo temple district are encouraged to visit surrounding temples.

Currently, Utah has 28 temples operating or under construction.
