Local members of the Church have circulated messages calling for prayers and assistance, and community leaders reportedly alerted local police, who are said to be conducting an active search. The situation has sparked concern and confusion within the local and international Latter-day Saint community.

We are actively trying to contact Church officials to verify the reported kidnapping. As of publication time, no official confirmation or comment has been issued by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This remains a developing story. The Church is expected to release a statement once more information is confirmed.
