Like many others, Kendal Levine graduated from Utah Valley University this past spring. For her and her family, this is a huge accomplishment to be celebrated. Latter-day Saint Earns Degree After Recovering From Auto-Ped Accident on Mission
Kendal began her college experience 11 years ago. She played basketball in Wyoming for a year before deciding to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Australia.
A year into her mission, Kendal was hit by a car and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Doctors were unsure what her future would look like. She spent a lot of time in the hospital and participated in extensive therapy.
In 2019, Kendal decided it was time to go back to school. For the first several years she could only take one class a semester.
Kendal told KUTV that “My thought processing is very delayed, so it causes me a lot of headaches.”
But she pushed through the pain and never gave up. Yes, she had her doubts and many doubted her. However, through it all, she put forth the effort and in May she walked across the stage by herself to receive her diploma.
